Configuring Devices

Configuring Devices

The screens shown in this guide may differ from the actual product.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Device]. The device settings screen appears.
    On the main screen, select [{{icon:cog-frame}}] > [Device]. The device settings screen appears.
  2. Select the item you want.
Note
  • [Device] settings require the [Device management] permission.
  • On the user settings screen, select a user and select [Permission group] > [Management] > [Device management].

Device Management

Manage devices, including adding, deleting, and copying devices.

Add Device

Adds a device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
    On the main screen, select [{{icon:cog-frame}}] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Click [Add Device].
  3. Set the conditions, then click [Search].

  4. Select the item you want.
  5. Click [OK].
    • [Recording media]: Set the recording media.
    ╶When using dual stream, select the stream to use for recording.
    • [Add media]: Add media.
    ╶Dual stream is available only on devices that support dual stream.
    • [Recording schedule]: Set the recording schedule.
    • [PTZ control schedule]: Set the PTZ control schedule.
    • [Fisheye lens settings]: Set the fisheye lens.
    • [Linked devices]: Set linked devices.
    Click [OK].
  6. Click [OK].
Note
  • After entering the [IP], verify the [ID] and [Password].
  • Selected values in [Fisheye Lens Settings] such as [Change X-Axis Radius], [Change Y-Axis Radius], and [Show Rotation Control]
apply only to fisheye lens settings. (They are not saved as device settings.)

Delete Device

Deletes the device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Select a device.
  3. Click [Delete].
    Click [Delete].
  4. Click [Yes] > [OK].
Note
When using [All Devices List], deleting a device permanently removes it from the server.

Copy Device

Copy a device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Select a device.
  3. Click [Copy Device].
    Click [Copy Device].
  4. Click [OK].

Add Devices Automatically

Add devices automatically.
Click [Auto Add Device] to add ONVIF devices.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Click [Auto Add Device].
    Click [Auto Add Device].
  3. Select a server.
  4. Click [Next].
    Click [Next].
  5. Enter the [ID] and [Password].
  6. Click [Next].
  7. Select the item you want.
  8. Click [Next] > [OK].
Note
  • On the local settings screen, select [ONVIF search type] > [Wizard UI].
  • On the device settings screen, change the UI button name from [ONVIF] to [Auto add device].

Configure Remote Control Process and Devices

Register a process that manages and controls digital input and digital output.
After registering the process, remotely control the devices.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Click [Add Device].
    Click [Add Device].
  3. Click [OK].
    Click [OK].
  4. Set [Other Channels].
  5. Select a device.
  6. Click [Linked Device].
    Click [Linked Device].
  7. Click [OK].
    Click [OK].
Note
  • Configure [Other channel] remote control items for your site.
  • Set remote control for power control devices.
╶Select [Other channel] > [On/Off].
  • Set remote control for the barrier gate.
╶For the first item, select [Other channel] > [Barrier] > [GateOpen]. ╶For the second item, select [Other channel] > [Barrier] > [GateClose].
  • On the main screen, select []. Check devices linked with the remote control process.

Configure Event Devices

Configure devices to receive events correctly.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Select a device.
    Select a device.
  3. Select the item you want.
    • [Event]: Set whether to use events.
    • [Event monitoring]: When event and metadata are received, display the metadata on the screen.
    • [Event save]: Set whether to save events.
    • [Retention period]: Set the event retention period.
    • [Use ONVIF]: Set whether to use ONVIF.
    ╶[Camera settings]: Set the codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, GOP, and more.
  4. Click [OK].
Note
On the main screen, select [] > []. Configure event rules.

Device Access Control

Assign devices to a user account or remove them.

Assigns a device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Access Control].
    On the main screen, select [{{icon:cog-frame}}] > [Devices] > [Device Access Control].
  2. Select a user account.
    Select a user account.
  3. Drag to the right while holding the mouse button.
  4. Click [OK].

Remove Devices from a User Account

Deletes the device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Access Control].
  2. Select a user account.
    Select a user account.
  3. Select a device.
  4. Right-click to open the context menu.
    Right-click to open the context menu.
  5. Click [Delete].
    Click [Delete].
  6. Click [Yes].
    Click [Yes].
  7. Click [Yes] > [OK].
Note
[Device] settings require the [Device Management] permission.

Assigning devices to multiple user accounts

Assigns a device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Access Control].
    On the main screen, select [{{icon:cog-frame}}] > [Devices] > [Device Access Control].
  2. Select a user account.
    Select a user account.
  3. Click [Device List Settings].
    Click [Device List Settings].
  4. Click [OK].
  5. Select a device.
    Select a device.
  6. Drag to the right while holding the mouse button.
  7. Click [OK].
    Click [OK].
  8. Click [OK].
    Click [OK].

Deleting all devices from multiple user accounts

Deletes the device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Access Control].
  2. Select a user account.
    Select a user account.
  3. Click [Device List Settings].
    Click [Device List Settings].
  4. Click [OK].
    Click [OK].
  5. Click [Delete All].
    Click [Delete All].
  6. Click [OK].

Device Group

Only administrator accounts can set [Device Groups].

Add Device Group

Adds a group.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Groups].
    On the main screen, select [{{icon:cog-frame}}] > [Devices] > [Device Groups].
  2. Click [Add].
    Click [Add].
  3. Enter a name.
  4. Click [OK].
  5. Select a group.
    Select a group.
  6. Drag to the right while holding the mouse button.
    Drag to the right while holding the mouse button.
  7. Select a user account.
  8. Click [OK].

Delete Device Group

Deletes the group.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Groups].
  2. Select a group.
  3. Click [Delete].
    Click [Delete].
  4. Click [Yes] > [OK].

Privacy Masking

Set privacy masking areas depending on the device.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Device] > [Privacy masking].
  2. Select a device.
    Select a device.
  3. Hold down the mouse button and move in the direction you want.
  4. Select the item you want.
    • [Saved Video Effect for AVI Backup]: Set options such as [Solid Fill] and [Mosaic].
    • [Privacy Masking Settings]: Set the privacy masking area.
    • [Reset]: Reset the settings.
  5. Click [OK].
    Click [OK].
Note
[Privacy Masking] settings require the [Privacy Masking] permission.

Device Permissions

Only administrator accounts can set [Device Permissions].

Setting PTZ Device Control Permissions

Set device permissions.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Device] > [Device permissions].
  2. Select a user account.
  3. Click [Use Per-Device Permissions].
  4. Select a device.
    Select a device.
  5. Click [Camera] > [PTZ Control].
  6. Click [OK].
  7. Restart the program to finish applying the settings.

Export or Import Devices

Export the equipment list saved in the program, or import it into the program.

  1. On the main screen, select [] > [Devices] > [Device Management].
  2. Click [Export].
  3. Click [Device Tree Page] > [].
    Click [Device Tree Page] > [{{icon:cog-frame}}].
  4. Select the item you want.
  5. Click [Load].
    Click [Load].
  6. Click [Export] > [OK].
